Los Angeles Times - 4/10 by Kimber MyersLoserville is somehow two different movies — a traditional teen comedy mixed with a message-driven drama about the dangers of bullying — without enough connective tissue linking characters or scenes to lend it cohesion.
User Review - 10/10 by suzyqmoviequeenOMG!!!!!!! So I'm an actress myself, and I have to say I totally LOVED all the performances by the women in this film. Natalie Hall and Sarah Jes Austell were perfect as the two sisters, Darby Stanchfield killed it as the lead boy's mom (so different from Scandal!), and Jamie-Lynn Sigler was so fun as the debate coach. Also, I want Natasha Dewhurst to play MY best friend - so cute, sweet, and funny. Also, Lily Harrington and Zuzanna S as the diva and the drama teacher - showstoppers. Even the little parts like the hippie girl, the vice-principal, the girls' mom, every woman here was awesome. So much respect for the whole cast (the boys are all amazing too - especially the surprise LGBT romance, which I won't spoil!), but I just can't stop talking about the women in this film. TOO good.
User Review - 10/10 by ncviewerThis is a really clever indie that features some really exciting young talent. Absolutely loved the performances of the three leads, and the supporting ensemble is filled with slam dunk performances (there's no way you'll recognize child star Jonathan Lipnicki as the kooky kid with the mohawk). While there's a lot of plot packed into the story, the film keeps the pace up, and lands the comedy much more often than not (the drama teacher scenes are hilarious). Amidst the fun stuff, the film also manages to present a really thoughtful portrait of a girl (the lovely Sarah Jes Austell) dealing with depression in a way that I really connected with.
User Review - 10/10 by Joe CSaw the trailer on instagram and it made me laugh so I decided to check it out. LOVED this teen comedy which actually addressed some pretty serious issues too. The cast includes Matt McGorry from OITNB and HTGAM and Darby Stanchfield from SCANDAL, but they are in totally different roles from their TV shows. I didn't even recognize the kid from Jerry Maguire until I saw his name in the credits and looked it up. He's hilarious in this. Where the heck has he been? The other young cast members have been on some of my favorite shows Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars but they are't famous. But they are REALLY, REALLY great so I bet they will be soon. The girl who plays the lead Mary broke my heart felt the same way when I watched Claire Danes in My So Called Life on netflix.
User Review - 10/10 by Tajae PLoserville touched on so many issues including bullying, equal rights, love, acceptance and forgiveness. I not only laughed throughout the movie but I also shed a few tears as well. I'm so proud to be able to proudly recommend this movie to others. Congratulations to the cast and crew on such an amazing movie! #ProudSupporter
User Review - 10/10 by Brian CLaughed a lot and even got ready-eyed. Great high school flick. Would watch again.
User Review - 10/10 by Jessica MWatched this film in Cherry Hill, NJ. I guess it's one of two theaters showing the film which sort of sucks because it's a really great film and I think a lot of kids would benefit from seeing it. Going to take my friends back this weekend so they can finally see a film that talks about what we are really going through. Plus they have a kick-ass twitter account that really interacts with the fans of the cast and producer Sara Ramirez!!!
User Review - 10/10 by Julie CSaw Darby Stanchfield talking about this film on Home and Family so I decided to watch it with my two teenage daughters. We loved it. The sisters relationship was so realistic and after the film we had a great talk about bullying and peer pressure. This is a great film for parents to watch with their teens!
User Review - 10/10 by Nancy GThis movie is a real charmer - watched it over the weekend with my teenage niece, and wasn't expecting us to both be laughing, but we did! Lots of funny characters, and I appreciated that all the women in the film had a lot of depth (in addition to being funny). After her initial comments on how cute the boys were, my niece then also got deeply invested in the film's conflict between the two sisters. We both might have cried at the end, just saying... All in all, a smart movie that anyone will find characters to identify with.
User Review - 10/10 by Lauren WA roller coaster of adolescent emotion fueled by such genuine comedy it will leave you in tears. From heartfelt laughter, poignant memories of your own teendom, or both--who cares? This is a film for anyone who remembers what it means to be an insider/outsider teen and everything in between. Love, love, love this movie! Loserville is a winner.
