Movie Reviews

Flavorwire - 4/10 by Jason BaileyThe basic problem with 'Leprechaun' is that it just isn't scary, not even a little bit, not for the tiniest second, and that's the result of a basic failure at the conception stage.
Washington Post - 3/10 by Richard HarringtonIn makeup, Davis is quite evil-looking and, like most good actors facing similar challenges, imbues a weak character with a strong presence. The movie is interesting only when he's wheeling about on screen, but in retrospect this is probably one set of reels Davis wishes he had sat out.
Los Angeles Times - 3/10 by Michael WilmingtonThe action scenes are poorly staged, the frights predictable, and the generally competent cast appears at a loss to make anything of the substandard material. Gabe Bartalos' makeup for the leprechaun is actually quite good, but his efforts go for naught.
Video-Reviewmaster.com - 1/10 by Steve CrumAnother psychotic "thing" on the prowl, this time IN time for St. Patrick's Day.
Austin Chronicle - 0/10 by Marc SavlovBad sets, bad acting, bad direction, shadows of boom-mikes, inexplicable plot holes, generic effects, fake-looking gore, death by pogo stick (!?), off-kilter Irish brogues... I just can't say enough about this, can I? My head hurts just trying to remember this complete and utter waste of perfectly good Kodak film stock.
User Review - 10/10 by James CAbsolutely brilliant movie. So long as you don't try and take it seriously, and can sit through the obnoxious comic relief characters (who aren't half as bad as most horror movie and especially slasher movie characters), it's really worth a watch. One of the best horror/comedies I've ever watched
User Review - 10/10 by Cody CBrilliant film, 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. Ruined with The Origins
User Review - 10/10 by DeMarkus HI love all the Leprechaun movies! They are awesome!
User Review - 10/10 by Chris CCult classic. Cheesy but has entertainment value.
User Review - 10/10 by Kyle EBad attempt at delivering a comedy horror flick, but still the best in the series (if that says something of importance to you) Leprechaun is a cheesy, poorly made comedy horror film about a killer leprechaun. Starring a very young Jennifer Aniston, in one of her first films roles, Leprechaun is a mess of a horror comedy film. The film is amusing, but it's still a misfire in the genre. I've seen better horror comedies than this, and this one is forgettable. The performances are questionable and the mood of the film is laid back and silly. This could have been a memorable film, but it doesn't do anything memorable. The acting is horrible, and the gags are boring and repetitive. The film has an unimpressive plot that accompanies the absurdity of this film. Leprechaun is a failure as a comedy horror flick, and it's funny, but only because it's such a bad film. The cast are terrible, and the direction of this film is unfocused and flawed. Director Mark Jones's attempt a comedy horror flick fails on all levels. Leprechaun could have been much better than this, but instead it fails to be a memorable comedy horror flick. This is one of Warwick Davis' worst performances, along with the sequels to this train wreck of a film. However this is the better film in the series, despite the fact it's still a bad film. Leprechaun is the type of film that is almost embarrassing to even call a guilty pleasure.
