Fighting crime is a full-time job and Batman NEVER takes a vacation. That is until he finally agrees to let Batgirl and Nightwing take him on a long overdue trip - leaving Gotham City under the watchful eye of the Justice League in LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes - Justice League: Gotham City Breakout. When Batgirl and Nightwing take Batman on a trip down memory lane - literally - to visit one of the key mentors from his formative years, it's up to the Justice League to keep Gotham City crime-free. But neither situation proves to be a "vacation" as the Bat trio encounters old nemeses on their adventure, and the Justice League discovers just how busy Batman is on a regular basis. It's a brick-tastic battle on two fronts as Batman, Batgirl and Nightwing take on Bane and Deathstroke, while the Justice League - with some help from a few Teen Titans - fends off an assault by many of Batman's infamous adversaries to ensure Gotham City's safety.

User ReviewDiego TGotham City Breakout is the newest offering from DC Comics and LEGO. Nick and I enjoy watching these straight to Blu-Ray movies, so when we saw this was coming out we had to get it. Monday night when we got home we let Nick pick out a movie to watch before bed and he chose to watch this over Evolution. (He's been on an Evolution kick lately). The next day when Nick and I got home from work and school respectively, he asked if I wanted to watch it with him, because, "it's so funny". So last night Nick, Shaolin and I laid on Nick's bed and watched it together. As with other LEGO entries in the DCU, this one is primarily for kids, but it is funny. It's innocent and goofy. I was smiling nearly the entire duration of the movie. Not just from the corny and silly jokes, but the sheer joy Nick had from watching this. Batman reminded me of the Adam West version of the caped crusader that I grew up watching. Superman is clueless and The Worlds Finest treat Robin like an adolescent child. Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire show up and are basically playing their silly Teen Titans Go counterparts in LEGO form. There are two different stories going on, The Batfamily of Knightwing and Batgirl convince Batman that he needs a vacation. The young bat apprentices take Batman to see an old spiritual guru of Bruce's named Madam Mantis. She's basically a grey hairs ass-kicking grandma. But upon arrival Batman suspects something is wrong and we find out Stroke Death, or Deathstroke is behind Madam Mantis' kidnapping and Bane is also involved here. Meanwhile with Batman away, The Big Blue Boy Scout is left in charge of Gotham. He thinks patrolling Gotham will be a catwalk since the majority of Batman's rouge gallery don't have any real super powers. The Joker and his sidekick Spoony steal the show for me. These is The DC Universe I can not wait to share with my daughter as she gets older. It's lighthearted and fun and enjoyable for the entire family.
User ReviewZach MThis was another fun Lego Justice League movie that tries to work on some Batman background. Interesting use of Deathstroke and cool to see Bane in the Lego movies.
User ReviewSheryn Mthese are harmless little movies whose only purpose is to entertain for an hour and twenty minutes and this one does just that. it's entertaining, fun, fast paced and funny. I watched this for the villains and it deliberated on the villains so I don't have much to complain about. it's a harmless little movie that shouldn't be taken seriously. it's fun and mindless.
User ReviewWes SSlow, dumb, but otherwise fine for kids. This one is just more silliness with a jumbled plot. There are some questionable ideas, but these LEGO films are trying to have fun regardless of canon.
User ReviewGeneric GI have thoroughly enjoyed the DC Comics Lego movie offerings...until this one. Although the movie had its moments, it mostly stunk. Although Spoony/Joker deflecting Superman's heat vision was was great.....the rest of it was overreaching in regards to Superman not being able to take out non-super powered villains. But then capture all the villains with makeshift batarangs was too much. My worst complaint was whomever did the voice for the Joker...Either it was a different actor/actress doing the voice or he or she decided to not put much effort into it. The voice of the Joker in the previous movies was excellent.
