The residents of Kampung Tirang live in dilapidated shacks just to earn for their next meal. The hardworking and reliable Turah has been appointed by the cooperative leader to tend to complaints or settle conflicts that arise in the village. Peace in the settlement is disrupted when the alcoholic Jadag starts questioning the governance of the village. The reviewer below has a lot wrong in that the movie is 80 minutes long and the part about traveling across the country starts happening very soon within the movie. I don't know what documentary he was watching but he's not right about a lot. Anyway, I was completely surprised by the topic and movie. At first, I didn't know what to think since I wasn't completely interested in the subject matter. But, it was free to watch on Amazon Prime so I decided to give it a go. I thought the pacing was good and the story was touching. I actually got a bit teary-eyed in the end. I would have like to have seen more stats but the dude in the documentary kept me interested so that was a bit of a trade off. All in all, I really dug this and would recommend it to anyone wanting to watch a good doc. |
