ReelTalk Movie ReviewsDonald J. LevitThat the second film, 'Love Song,' does not match its predecessor only shows that sequels are seldom equal. It is still a good view, however.
Q Network Film DeskJames Kendricka decidedly different kind of film than its predecessor, and unfortunately not as good
User ReviewDavid KCinema Paradiso: Theatrical Cut (Tornatore, 1989) The cinematography is beautiful, and it definitely has its share of touching moments throughout. Unfortunately, the entire film isn't able to be as engaging as the childhood section, and there are parts throughout the teenage and older years that drag a bit. I thought the final segment of the film had some parts that especially felt dragged out. In fact, the final scene was incredibly moving at first but then it just seemed to go on and on, and it really sucked the emotionally punch out of it. My only other quibble with the film would be that it was a little heavy on sentiment at times. Otherwise, this was a very moving and beautiful film. Rating: *** Lady Snowblood This revenge film was simply brilliant. It is so obvious that it was the major inspiration for Kill Bill, but Tarantino was not able to improve upon the source material this time. Lady Snowblood blows Kill Bill out of the water. Rating: *** The Shop on Main Street This Holocaust film is consistently engaging, well shot, and even occassionally humerous. But I can't help but feel rather dissapointed by it. The film's score works for the most part, but at times it feels intrusive and out of place. I also felt that the main character's final action was a bit ridiculous and over-the-top. Rating: *** Tokyo Drifter This film is aesthetically brilliant and one of the most unique films I've seen. This was my first experience with Sezuki, but it will certainly not be my last. My only problem with the film is that the story loses focus at some point in the middle and becomes a bit confusing. Rating: ***1/2
User ReviewKeiko AKill Bill was no doubt based on the first, But i stort of liked this more (And oh yes don't forget Sex and Fury another pink film made here). Though i stort of liked this one's narration more and the rate the story went. Still everything is perfect and a big thumbs up for the soundtrack!

User ReviewTaylor UIf you liked kill bill... you will love this film.
User ReviewZak GYEAH, so this has been said before, but Netflix kicks all that is ass and then some. It affords me the possibilty to see all these fucking great films that I would never have the chance to see. Take LADY SNOWBLOOD for example. I had heard that it was pretty much the direct inspiration for KILL BILL, so naturally, I had to rent it. And I'm here to tell you, that it's a great, great film. I love the use of music, the editing, the style, it all flows together to make a martial-arts masterpiece. Now it's up to the sequel to kick at least 3/4 of the ass that the first one did. What a fucking film. Speaking of being blown away, I'm sure everyone's seen that new REVENGE OF THE SITH teaser that owns and rocks all sorts of ass seen or known to man. When I saw the first two trailers for the first two prequels, I was kind of like, "whatever, I'll see it just because it's STAR WARS." With this one, motherfucker. I feel like I have to see that bitch RIGHT NOW. God, what a fucking great trailer. The end product might end up blowing ewok dick, but dammit if that first teaser doesn't have me hooked, kids. Apparently, my brother from another mother Darbs wasn't lying when he told me that a lot of the Panera Bread females look at me as the "paragon of lust" and the sorts. It's weird to go from having no girls talking about you to a lot of girls talking about you. Back in high school this shit was unimaginable. I don't think I was on the map back then. Of course, the Darbs is quite the object of female affection as well. I think there's a certain female RT member that can agree with that. My next 5 from Netflix go......... 1. IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE 2. I'M NOT SCARED 3. 5 FINGERS OF DEATH 4. HENRY:PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER 5. GERRY BOOM!!!! Tough actin' tanactin.............
User Reviewshannon aIt's pretty good, essentially a female version of Lone Wolf and Cub. Good 70's "samurai" tale though
User ReviewTerri HExcellent sequel to the first Lady Snowblood: both films are quite obviously templates for Tarantino's Kill Bill. Nonetheless, if you can clear your mind of the Tarantino rehash, this is (as well its predecessor) a great martial arts film that should be seen by fans of the genre. Highly recommended.
