User ReviewLeo LHighly captivating! Avantika first meets Ehsaan while trying to hail a cab on a Delhi street. Later, they are formally introduced at work where they are both university professors. Ehsaan is determined to woo, and pursue, her at every venture but she remains reluctant. At the insistence of her friend/co-worker, she decides to let her guard down, and take up his offer of chatting over a cup of coffee. Their bond forms, and a relationship ensues. After getting the blessing of her father, the two marry and decide to leave to the U.S. where Avantika will resume her teaching duties. After settling into their new home and married life, Avantika and Ehsaan meet their new neighbors. Avantika meets a defiant Salma amidst a group of housewives that are devoted to staying at home, and abiding the wishes of their husbands. Her brief conversation with Salma enables her to discover the truth about her neighbors, and her husband. With the help of Riyaaz, she must stop this small group from trying to create a similar reaction, and fate, from that of 9/11. Great song- Shukran Allah. Directed by Renzil D'Silva, and produced by Karan & Hiroo Yash Johar. Great cast- Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Om Puri, Vivek Oberoi, Kirron Kher, and Diya Mirza. Worthy!

User ReviewJennifer TThis film was great I loved Kareena in this one with her soon to be hubby
User ReviewJonathan RThis movie was excellent. The reason it doesn't get such good ratings is because it puts Islam in a bad light. A good chunk of the people watching this may be Muslim. So because of their own religious bias, they're going to rate the movie as horrible. But ignore all of that and go ahead and watch the movie. You won't be disappointed.

User ReviewVishal SAvantika, a NYC professor, returns to her native India to visit her ailing father. She finds work at a prestigious University where she's taken by Ehsaan Khan a substitute teacher. Before long, her father agrees to bless their wedding and shortly after, leave to start a new life in New York. They set out to look for a home for themselves & find themselves living in an Indian neighbourhood. The neighbors are conservative Muslims and their lifestyles are a revelation to Avantika. They all seem to blindly accept and obey the code of conduct set by Nasreen. All of them look up to her. All accept another young woman, Salma. Salma visits Avantika the next day and asks her not to trust anyone. What follows are a series of bizarre events that turn Avantika's life upside down and drive her into a morass of emotions that spin madly out of control taking her to a point of no return. This is ultimate Hitchcockian and despite the length of the movie, will have you hanging at the edge of your seat. It will also leave you pondering on all sides of muslim fundamentalism and is above all, a touching movie though filled with non stop suspense. Don't miss it.
