DVDTalk.comScott WeinbergRegardless of the fact that these clips have been recycled from internet airplay, there's more than enough behind-the-scenes spectacle to please the fans.
User ReviewChristopher COwn it also and it is incredible what a man will do to make a movie.
User ReviewChris Putterly fantastic - thats all there is to say
User ReviewSinead LA phenomenal inside look at the making of Kong. I truly reckon that anyone interested in the film industry should take a look at this. The only disappointment for me was that, since the production diaries were being made during production, we didn't get to see any of the pre-production stuff. I would have liked to see some of Weta Workshop's early creature designs, maquettes and what Alan Lee was up to.
User ReviewNick Ci like my movies with plenty of makeing ofs, but a makeing of when the movie is still in theaters? Genious. I really enjoyed Kong and wanted to see how they mde it so I bought this, it was worth the price tag. There are some really funny segments with Jack Black doing some really comical things, my favorite segment involves a bunch of photos being bootlegged off the movie set. This collection is for people who like to see a behind the scenes and how the effects were made. This is a must for fans of the new Kong movie and who want to see how the special effects team worked their wonders.
User ReviewAl PSome interesting behind the scenes footage, but nothing much else. It was just a way to get anticipation for the movie. However, it just seemed like overkill with over four hours of production diaries. I also cannot believe this has almost no structure to it, everything is scattered.
User ReviewFaris AGreat Documentary for fan's of the "behind the scenes" clips. This 3 Hour Documentary can please fan's as well as the general mainstream.
User ReviewAnya SA great series of short docs on the making of the King Kong feature of 2005 that were posting online during the making albeit probably prefer the flow of the documentary that came with the feature since it incorperated all the elements at once whereas on DVD these you can tell were a bit more broken up, and hate to say it you could tell it was a bit of a cash grab on DVD. Mixed feelings but cool.
User ReviewRadek CWell, certainly it contains everything you always wanted to know about high-budget movie production. And I mean EVERYTHING, as it is really lengthy. Probably it's more fun to Jackson's fellow filmmakers, cause it's such a detailed insight that half of the stuff they showed seemed unimportant to a mortal like me. But I can't say it wasn't informative, thus worth watching.
