| User ReviewCaroline NOK. to all those that didn't get it, maybe because it's Dutch with subtitles, this is a PARODY(!), kind of like Shaun of the Dead. I, for one, thought it was funny, but then again I am European and I guess we have a different sense of humor. Oh, and BTW, the brothers are not jail-birds, they ended up in jail for getting into it with some guy at a party, who "sicked" his two "henchmen (very, very loose term here) on the brothers for hitting his girlfriend in the head with a soccer ball, knocking her out. The four guys end up in jail for the night when the satellite crashes into Aziz's former place of employment, trapping his girlfriend there, obviously in need of rescue. Boy, how I wish people would actually watch the damned flick before giving the 411 about it AND/OR giving their 1 cent (yep, I wrote 1 cent, because that's all it's worth) in form of reviews. For more info, check out the wiki entry under the original name of the flick "Zombibi", where it is described as a "Dutch splatter comedy". Honestly though, those folks unable to comprehend that this is a comedy within the first couple of minutes, are, IMHO, idiots; and maybe idiots aren't the best people to review movies, or anything for that matter. |
| User ReviewRichard DA film clearly modeled on "Shaun of the Dead", only it's not funny, and instead of satirizing all the zombie movie tropes you know so well (and are thoroughly sick of), it just steals them and uses them to bore you. The copy lady is sexy and the film's Dutch ... it has those things going for it I guess. |
| User ReviewBill Ran email joy able little zombie comedy that had potential had it came out prior to Shaun of the dead. With its subtitles some of the jokes don't go well due to timing and reading. Most the effects are good but some fall way short of being actually believable. A decent enough watch if you like zomcoms but isn't anything that will stand out from the rest of the zombie films. |
| User ReviewJesse OThis one's a Dutch production, set in Amsterdam, and there's a character that slightly resembles Alfred Molina. There's some laughs but not as much as the director probably thinks (the 'video game' sequences in particular are bad enough to almost render the whole movie unwatchable) Virtually no scares and almost no gore, as most blood is replaced by green, alien slime. But it's all harmless stuff and the people who made this seem to mean well, in an over-excited kid kind of way. There's much, much worse zombie films out there. |
