Full Plot Details

Satara-based petty road-works contractor, Sachin Tichkule, faces challenges when the Satara Municipal Corporation puts a hold on his payment. He decides to sue them, while his extended family deal with the crisis of a recently-collapsed bridge resulting in 65 deaths. If matters were not bad enough, the new Municipal Commissioner is none other than his estranged girlfriend/ex-collegian, Gehna Ganpule. Sachin had abused and assaulted her in Mumbai a few years ago, and she is now determined to blacklist him at any and all costs. While comically dealing with indolent employees, his sister's marriage, an elephant, a road-roller &c. he lands in even more hot water when the local police get ready to prosecute him for alleged Sexual Molestation, as well as Assault and Threats to Kill Gehna's brother.

Time Out - 4/10 by Anil Sinanan[Khatta] is a muddled Bollywood attempt at satire on the hardships faced by the common man in order to progress in modern India.

When I finally caught it on the tube, I regretted it immediately... Akshay in top comedic form and with a social message to boot, KM may hang a little heavy in the drama in some parts; but overall is rip-roaringly hilarious!
User Review - 8/10 by Tom GI actually really liked this film. An interesting political satire that, granted, wasn't funny throughout but kept me gripped with its witty humour and underplayed drama. The protagonist was a fantastic David Brent-esque figure of a pitiable, simple road contractor who fought against those in power. Really nicely shot, all apart from a blurry cut-out elephant.

User Review - 8/10 by Sais K*** If you are fan of shahrukh khan type lame movies, ignore it! *** Nice movie again by Priyadarshan. Not as good as 'Herapheri' and 'Ye Tera Ghar Ye Mera Ghar' but still a very nice stuff to watch at time when most of bollywood movies are totally lame. Everyone is good at acting but the actress Trisha.
