Movie Reviews

Los Angeles Times - 7/10 by Gary GoldsteinAnchored by a nicely understated performance by Seann William Scott, Just Before I Go effectively juggles a wealth of genuine, at times profound, emotion with quite a bit of nutty-raunchy humor.
The Hollywood Reporter - 4/10 by Frank ScheckThe film falters when it ham-fistedly attempts to detour into sensitive drama.
New York Post - 4/10 by Kyle SmithJust Before I Go is a “Garden State” retread in which filthy jokes gradually cede ground to sentimental slush.
Film Journal International - 4/10 by Daniel EaganCox must have seen something in this screenplay that encouraged her to film it, but whatever that critical element was, it's not apparent in the finished product.
The New York Times - 2/10 by Stephen HoldenJust Before I Go, the directorial debut of Courteney Cox, lurches along a wobbly line between salacious comic nastiness and nauseating sentimentality. The two strains are so poorly integrated that the screenplay (by David Flebotte) feels like pieces from two different projects mashed together with little oversight.
FILMINK (Australia) - 2/10 by John NoonanAt times, it's hilarious, but the tone changes so much that it becomes hard to keep up.
New York Daily News - 2/10 by Joe NeumaierThe former “Friends” star clearly wanted something special, but sadly the result is ... this.
Variety - 1/10 by Justin ChangDull and tamped down throughout, Scott convinces well enough as a guy who wants be put out of his misery, and there isn’t an actor here who doesn’t look ready to join him.
User Review - 10/10 by John Sactually a real nice way an hour and a half. Some really funny stuff
User Review - 10/10 by Jay GThis is one movie where you should ignore the critics, it is funny, sometimes raunchy and surprisingly touching, your either laughing or crying but somehow it all works. Well done Courtney and cast, well done.
