User ReviewJerico T3 - By telling the story backwards, the film won't be able to generate scares the way western horror films do. It does however generate dread very well for the most part. As is traditional with J-horror, the inevitability of the curse dominates the story. Jurei falls short of similarly themed Ju-on mainly because this one can be really rough around the edges, particularly during many of the ghost scenes. Ju-on tended to handle these very well, without betraying it's low budget. Still, J-horror buffs should watch and get something from this.
User ReviewGrëg Wa very amateurly done japanese horror film similar to the dozens of asian horror films released in the last decade. oddly enough, the chapters are in reverse, similar to memento, except neither that or this film are very good. basically, a group of schoolgirls discover that one of their friends was killed, and the ghost of the murdered girl is haunting the rest of them and killing them. that's literally the entire plot. not much to really enjoy. i'm sure it will be remade even worse in america just like every other movie, though.
