Leave your thoughts about Johnny Be Good.
Washington PostHal HinsonI doubt if I could stand to be in the same state as anyone who liked the new Anthony Michael Hall film "Johnny Be Good." If Chuck Berry were dead, he'd be spinning in his grave.
The New York TimesCaryn JamesBut mostly the satire is as dated as the recruiters' plaid jackets, as lame as the Johnny Walker joke.
Chicago TribuneGene SiskelJohnny Be Good, a would-be satire on the excesses of big-time college football recruiting, is so bad that the NCAA might consider using it as punishment for coaches who violate regulations.
Apollo GuideRyan CracknellIt's not funny, it tells a surface story and nothing more, and there's no sense of effort to correct any of these deficiencies.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertThe screenplay for this movie bears every sign of being a first draft - a quick and dirty one. The movie doesn’t feel written, it feels dictated. Three authors are listed, and from the way their movie plays, they must have sat around in an office somewhere trying to get all of their cliches in a row.

User ReviewMike CThis is moviemaking at its finest. All moviemakers should see this FILM before they attempt anything of their own. I only wish the Godfather would have been made after Coppola could have seen this masterpiece. The cinemetography makes me weap more and more with each additional viewing. It is all downhill from here. I can't remember exactly how many oscars this won, but it was definitely over 20. Let's hope Michael Bay doesn't attempt to remake this masterpiece! :fresh:
User ReviewMichelle GFun movie. Anthony Michael Hall seems to be in everything. Robert Downey Jr. was awesome in this movie. He was super sexy and really goofy. This movie was pretty funny. I recommend this one to anyone who like 80's teen flicks.
User ReviewCassie HWacky, Wild, and a HILLARIOUS made movie!!! (:
User Reviewmike hHow in the world does this film rank a zero. Robert downey junior, anthony michael hall, ms thurman. Its a great little football movie. i am beginning to think all people are dead inside, and have no understanding or empthy or souls. This is a classic 80s movie, what is wrong with all you people out there, how do you not like this movie. For shame, there are some people you just can not reach, and its all you people out there.
