Solzy at the MoviesDanielle SolzmanShy of two hours,John McCain: For Whom The Bells Toll is a documentary worthy of celebrating a statesman and military hero.
Paste MagazineAmy GlynnHBO would like to offer you the following answer: "No, you shouldn't respect John McCain because he has stage IV brain cancer." It has a lot of other reasons why you should. And you'll agree or you won't.
Washington PostHank StueverIt's an altogether new form of tribute: Having one's last word while being able to hear the things everyone will say when you're really gone.
User ReviewJulie CWhat a refreshing truth of how a great man can inspire people to be honest, and represent all while serving his country. Such an amazing documentary, everyone in America could benefit from seeing this show
User ReviewMatt GAny chance to be reminded of the actual humanity within the increasingly-inhuman world of politics is welcome. This doc fits McCain, being more honest than many political docs about its subject. Yes, he's made, & owns up to, some principled mistakes (Sarah Palin, lying during campaign, shady funds), but his honesty & hardwork must make him among the most likable modern politicians. And his off-the-cuff defense of Obama during their opposing campaigns is one of my favorite American political events ever.
