Seventy-five percent of the American people still refuse to believe the official story of President John F. Kennedy's death. They do not think he was killed by a lone gunman but by a mysterious cabal that somehow conspired to have him killed. How can this be? How can a crime this famous, witnessed and investigated by so many, remain a mystery? This is what veteran Australian police detective Colin McLaren is determined to find out. JFK: The Smoking Gun follows the forensic cold-case investigation McLaren conducted over four painstaking years, taking us back to that tragic day in Dallas at Dealey Plaza where the shooting took place, to Parkland Hospital where the president was pronounced dead, to the Bethesda Naval Hospital where the autopsy was conducted and to the conclusions of the Warren Commission that have remained controversial to this day. Driven by a seasoned police detective who, thanks to modern technology, finally had access to all the facts and to witness testimony, the documentary uses logic, reason and time-tested investigative techniques to solve a crime that is every bit as shocking and incredible today as it was when it first happened 50 years ago. Colin McLaren believes he has found "the smoking gun" that killed JFK. Once you've seen this film, he's confident you will believe it, too.

Wall Street JournalDorothy Rabinowitz[The] film finds its focus in ballistics talk, much of it intriguing, and ballistics tests. Better yet, it manages to maintain a certain suspense
Uncle BarkyEd BarkIt can't be said -- unfortunately -- that Smoking Gun is bereft of any "entertainment" value.
New York Daily NewsDavid HinckleyHe comes off as a detective building a case. But then, so do others. And only one can be right.
User ReviewEd MThis movie put it to rest, for me, who killed JFK. NOW the whys and who funded LHO and all that is still up in the air, but the kill shot came from the followup car, from the man holding the AR15. Was he aiming or was it a huge accident, we will never know. Because of the Secret Service destroying all of the evidence leads us to the legal opinion that what they destroyed would have incriminated them in the kill shot of JFK. I was 8 when He was shot and of course always wondered who really shot JFK, because of the reaction of JFK, I knew the Grassy Knoll was out. But until now no one has pieced JUST the evidence together to its final logical conclusion. Splat to all of those negative critics, IT IS A DOCUMENTARY STUPID!! This should be Required Viewing in all schools at some level.

User ReviewThe Critic (Colin McLaren, a retired Australian police detective has conducted a four year forensic investigation into the death of President John F Kennedy. McLaren revisits the entire transcripts of the Warren Commission reports and the original police statements gathered from eye witnesses interviewed immediately afterwards together with the ballistic reports of Howard Donohue and the conclusions drawn by author, Bonar Menninger in his book "Mortal Error". Interesting documentary that has been meticulously researched and offers a believable if unpalatable scenario into what really happened on that fateful day in November, 1963.
User ReviewEfren MMe gustó sobre todo por sus metodos de investigacion
User ReviewCarlos Dthe beginning of this documentary is a little slow, and doesn't really goes to the point, but once we get to see the theories and the recreation of events,well...it gets really interesting! worth watching it
User ReviewNathan MOr How Much Of This is Accurate? With every conspiracy theory documentary, you spend 75% of the time asking yourself, "How much of this is real?" This applies to JFK: The Smoking Gun. It definitely has entertainment value and some interesting theories, but you wonder why this is being released as a documentary and not something more impacting. I'm not saying that it's not accurate, but I question much of it. If it is true, than I'm glad I watched this, and even if it's not, it was a fun ride.
