Leave your thoughts about Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds: Live.
User ReviewThe MIT'S THE BEST EVER!! This is pure classic and is my favourite thing ever. I 100% recommend you watch it. Amazing music, great performances from the actors, love the simple CGI and the huge tripod! They even brought Richard Burton to life! Outstanding.
User ReviewJason SThe giant animated head of Richard Burton is a bit strange but a GREAT show regardless!
User ReviewFrancis LWOW...if only Spielberg's version had the special effects this stage production used. Since I first heard the album (Jeff Wayne's musical adaptation) I've been hooked. And now, seeing the live performance, with a full orchestra, I'm convinced this is possibly one of the best musicals I've ever seen. From the eerie opening voice-over by Richard Burton (though I could do without the 'floating giant head'), to the hit single "Forever Autumn", to the stunning "Thunder Child" strains, to the finale, this just grips the viewer/listener. An added benefit is sticking with the novel's time-frame and setting (none of the "let's put it in modern-day Los Angeles", or so-called re-imagining how the aliens have been here all along (ala the Spielbert/Cruise tripe). The special effects used in the background imagery is just amazing. My only real regret: there's no United States tour planned any time soon - to my knowledge. If you like Science Fiction, or great music, or spectacular visuals (or better yet, a combination of all three) you simply need to check this out.
User ReviewAdam JExcelente, recomendable para aquellos que no tengan la oportunidad de ver el show.
User ReviewSandra PHaving never seen war of the worlds, I was a little apprehensive of hearing this, but it totally blew me away. The stage was fantastic and the way it was all done amazing. Especially having Justin Hayward from the moody blues singing!
User ReviewCody MOutstanding translation of Jeff Wayne's musical interpretation of the HG Well's masterpiece brings the story to live on stage in glorious fashion. Narrated by the virtual disembodied head of the late Richard Burton, it recounts the invasion of Earth by the martians and their deadly tripods. Great songs and an interesting stage design (including a scale tripod!) make this experience a true joy.
