Film Journal InternationalDavid NohAutism and the challenges it presents for its romantically inclined leading lady are the basis for this well-intentioned but very spotty film.
Flick FilosopherMaryAnn Johanson[D]rama about a young woman with Asperger's looking for love... is stilted, forced, phony, emotionally implausible, and... rather paternalistic and patronizing.
User ReviewAnne SCharming film with a great cast. Really interesting and fun new film . Amir arison from the black list is awesome
User ReviewFrances HFirst and foremost; I really enjoyed this film. I found myself experiencing events through Jane's perspective and the actress did a wonderful job of conveying the characters warmth and humour. This is fundamentally a story about two sister's and the romance manages to be sweet and significant without monopolizing the story. The overprotective elder sister Bianca is an important example of how short-sighted and stifling one can become when one allows fear to direct their relationship. As an audience member I was able experience all the self-doubt this character projected as well as the liberation of finally letting go.
User ReviewJoseph WI absolutely bloody loved this film. Always end up welling up near the end.
User ReviewCaroline CI am stunned that critics scored this film so low, definitely makes me question reliability in the future. If you like indie films, and can appreciate dialog and character development this is a gem. The characters were well developed, realistic and believable. I just adored the character Jack and quirky Jane. This was a feel good film and even got me a bit teary eyed, but heartwarming ?? Loved it!!!
User ReviewGreg Wmy new favorite chick flick. Loved Gabriel Ebert.
User ReviewB CLike watching my daughter. Very well done by all.
User ReviewSarah TI loved this film! It is a love story between two sisters, a coming of age story and a rom com with a very delicate approach to aspergers. The acting is fantastic and I loved every second of it. I hate the title of the film though. It doesn't do it justice.
User ReviewRated NBeautifully told story about a young girl with aspergers trying to find her own way through life. Ignore the poor critic reviews as they are used to the power house film productions and leading actors and actresses from Hollywood.... The bland cliché types. Well worth a watch and the direction is clean. With all the generic reboots and generic Hollywood blockbusters it's great to see this type of film still being made. Great family film that highlights the differences between neurotypical people and those on the spectrum. Shows that those things that make us different also draw us together
