His associate, Keshav, is grievously injured, and is hospitalized in a coma-like condition. Housed in an overcrowded barrack, with barely room to move, Parag meets with a variety of people - both convicted and awaiting trial - including Abdul Ghani, Kabir Malik, Galib Suratwala, Nawab, Bababhai, etc. Parag again appears in Court e after a charge-sheet is filed, but again, due to the seriousness of the offenses, fear of tampering with evidence and witnesses, he is denied bail. Several months later, Keshav is now deceased - and Parag, embittered by abuse, loss of faith in an overburdened system - with overwhelming evidence against him - faces trial as the only accused.

User ReviewTawseef RMadhur Bhandarkar is getting more real day by day... it was a bittersweet ride for me...lotz of goosebumps and touches'...brilliant...
User ReviewNabil KOne of the best movies of the year. Neil diservs best actor award, outstanding. MAnoj Bajpal diservs best supporting actor, fantastic!
User ReviewArefin SVery realistic acting by Neil Nithin Mukesh. He was amazing in New York, so I had high expectations from this one, which he absolutely lived up to. The young actor has a promising career in front of him. Mugdha Godse, who I had never heard of before, delivered a horrendous performance. Such dry acting that I couldn't feel her character's presence at all. The mother was even worse. Also, wish there were more than 2 good songs (pick the old Lata Mangeshkar and whatever song that is is 100% doomed for failure). Director Madhur Bhandarkar delivered a spectacular representation of a life in jail, presenting everything with realism and detail. However, why couldn't Mukesh just say "get me a lie detector and you'll know i'm innocent?" right from the beginning?
User ReviewZahid CDay : Sunday Date: 8 Nov 2009 Time: 8.15pm With: Zehra Mami, Zehra Mamis Mom, Queenie Maasi, Shiraz Uncle On : DVD Bhandharkar has done it again. Awesome plot.
User ReviewSufyan JA hard hitting reality with some power packed performances!!
User ReviewShiv NThis is Neilâ??s best performance till date.. The story could have been a lil more realistic.. The songs (except for daata sun le) are very average and the movie could have done without it.. But itâ??s a good attempt by Madhur.. It is very difficult to take such a subject and handle it properly.. Definetly worth a watch..
User ReviewSharad SAfter Blue, this is another documentary film. The director has no interest in telling us a story. He is too busy depicting life in Jail. Even that he did not do too well. I discovered nothing that I did not already know. Since Jail as a topic interests me, I enjoyed the movie. If you could not care less what life in Jail is like, don't bother to see it.
User ReviewSri HWhile this may not be Madhur Bhandarkar's best work, it's still a highly gripping movie. I won't lie - it took me three days to finish this movie due to how depressing and grim the storyline was. Even so, I can't deny that the message sent out by this film is powerful: Not everyone behind bars is guilty and they have the right to live their lives as much as we do. Neil Nitin Mukesh did a very good job. It's another thing that he wasn't given a lot of emotion to work with.....grim, stoic, depressed.....he pulled it off well. Mughda was good and worked with what she was given - it wasn't a lot, but she was a natural. Arya Babbar impressed. He showed spark that he hasn't shown previously. Manoj Bajpai was one hell of a likable character and really made you feel for him. Rahul Singh really made an impact as Ehsaan, especially in the scene where he confronts his wife. The movie brought tears to my eyes and I think that says a lot about the acting, direction and the overall impact.
User ReviewPranav KIt's got some very sensitive moments. The jail shoots are brilliant, but the parts that are outside the jail are not good enough. Even the background stories are unconvincing! Still a good movie!
User ReviewMaddy ? AActually a decent concept, average acting, but just horribly long.
