Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzIn spite of its obvious flaws (inferior animations), Jack the Giant Killer is movie magic that's rife with rich fantasy and winsome playfulness.
Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonAlthough no classic like The 7th Voyage of Sinbad -- and missing that picture's true star, visual effects wizard Ray Harryhausen -- this is nevertheless rousing entertainment.
User ReviewFantazmagorya Bit is the first movie i ve ever seen in my life , i was 3 years old and i used to watch it all the day long again and again and again, there are some parts of it that made me feel not good,i was young, and the animational imagination of the director wasnt fresh enough i guess, wasnt as pure as my soft brain that time,i payed too much attention for the features in the movie,i watched it till 7 years old or somthing, for a whole 4 years, till i lost the tape, yet i still remmember things,i still even remmember wat i felt, when i saw the man in the bottle, the flying dragon, the giant, the stoned walking soldier gaurds of the castle that he wipped them ,i travel with time to my child hood, through this movie,it wasnt good, but soo much good for me :)

User ReviewJezzy AThis movie is rather hilarious. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was great.
User ReviewxGary XI LOVED this movie when I was a kid!! I watched it every time I went to my uncle's house. It's a classic fantasy movie!
User ReviewJoshua LI love this film. It features some great stop motion fx and has the same 'Sinbad' as from 7th voyage
User ReviewJon SQuite possibly the first action/fantasy live-action movie I have ever seen in my life, Jack the Giant Killer is a solid story of a brave young lad who rises up to rescue a princess. Accompanied by a young deckhand, a Viking sailor, and a wish-granting Leprechaun, Jack does battle against an evil sorcerer and his army of giants. Being one of the first movies I have ever seen, this film has almost completely shaped my taste in movies, and my love of tales of the swashbuckling adventurer battling against the forces of evil.
User ReviewCordelia SSUCH a rip-off of Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, but then again, one of the greatest filmic fairy-tales ever created. At times, it's terrifying, at times, it's sweet, but it's always beautiful, magical, and true to the childish spirit.
User ReviewPrivate UOften seen simply as an attempt to cash in on the success of the movies featuring Ray Harryhausen's special effects, but look again. This film is an all out fantasy. The visual design of the movie is striking and although it seems to throw in a whole mess of different fantasy elements, this keeps you constantly engaged and surprised. Pendragon's ghost/troll army are pretty scary yet kind of psychadelic and trippy at the same time.
