BlackFilm.comKam WilliamsA fish-out-of-water comedy with Eddie Griffin as a con artist who finds love and a new ease on life in Ireland.
User ReviewJessica CI loved this movie! It so definitely hilarious! Would entertain many Irish folks.
User ReviewNichele WThis movie is equal parts zero and five stars (but I could never give it three). It does not feature Mo'nique in a barrel, despite the box, but it does have the best black guy teaching white people to dance scenes since Black Knight. Norbit is way better. I think.
User ReviewGabriel CAlthough Eddie Griffin's rap style gets tiring, the idea of this movie is appealing in that it fairly accurately depicts Ireland's coming of age. As the citizens of the tiny village of Ballywood accept and adjust to the idea of having an east LA rapper for the new landlord of their only local pub, so Ireland of today is coming to be more of an international nation. Even as the leading lady falls in love with him, so Ireland is embracing more of the world. Good scenery, music, and storyline makes this an enjoyable movie. :fresh:
User ReviewCody GI was very pleasantly surprised by this movie! Had me laughing alot and I was certainly impressed by the performances of the this non-Hollywood cast. The sountrack was phenomenal also.
User ReviewStacey PAt first I thought it was sooo ridiculous! Outrageous stereotypes and whatnot... but if you stick with it, it has heart! It's funny, but also touching :) I love this movie!
User ReviewMatthew BThis movie started out as one of those so-bad-you-groan type of movies, but it really opened up into a sweet, romantic movie once Griffin hit the Irish shores. This isn't an outstanding movie, but I found it a good way to spend the time. And the female lead as well as the daughter were very great to watch.
User ReviewM.i. KYes the story is cliche, but the movie was hilarious and touching. Eddie Griffin is one of the funniest people alive, good stuff
User ReviewPrivate Ubest portrayal of irish culture I have ever seen in a movie
User ReviewMaura RI stumbled on this movie on one of the lesser cable channels and had no idea of it's existence. I love Ana Friel and it starts off with her singing so I had to watch. Eddie Griffin is funny, the story is typical, the end is painfully sugary sweet but it's a fun watch.
