Full Plot Details

With high school graduation right around the corner, Takumi Fujiwara has a lot on his mind and a lot to prepare for. Everything becomes even more complicated when Takumi is offered a spot on Ryosuke Takahashi's elite Kengai Racing Team, which seeks to assemble the greatest racers in the Gunma area for a tour of Japan's mountain passes. Before he can accept however, Takumi feels the need to settle the score with the Lancer Evo driving Emperor team, defend his downhill-racer crown against the son of his father's greatest rival, and finally settle things with his unfaithful girlfriend Natsuki.

User Review - 10/10 by Matt GI really like this show both for racing and it also helped me out on my racing games on Xbox 360 for NFS ProStreet, NFS Most Wanted, NFS Carbon, Grid, (Forza Motorsport#1 & 2-these two games I drive a the same eight-six I even put the same decals on it as in the shows/movies), Juiced 2 Hot Import Nights.
User Review - 10/10 by Paul MGreetings, all. This fantastic movie tells an epic tale of the bold street racer, Takumi Fujiwara entering the glorious Project D. This is when Initial D's climax begun. It also tells the tale of Takumi and Mogi and their tragic, yet magical relationship. The combined efforts of Takumi and the 86 turn this movie in to a wonderful, magical, mythical tale of Takumi becoming the drift legend, even in the toughest of conditions. In summary, this is a beautiful movie for all audiences. I give it a five star rating. Goodbye.

It takes place after the events of Second Stage and unlike the first 2 installments which were TV series, Third Stage is instead a full length movie. The story in this movie is pretty good. Besides Takumi Fujiwara, characters like Bunta Fujiwara, Takeuchi Itsuki, Mogi Natsuki, Kouichirou Iketani and the Takahashi Brothers are back and most of them are still likeable as ever. There are a few races in this movie. And as always, they are fun to watch. The art and animation in Third Stage has been improved over in Second Stage. The character designs are a little better looking, the CG for the races still look awesome and the environments look great. The music contains the same old eurobeat music that was used in the previous installments, though there are newer tracks here that weren't in the old entries. And as usual, they are a blast to hear. M.O.V.E. comes back again to do the opening theme for this movie and it's a pretty good song. It may not be as good as the songs used in the first opening and ending theme in First Stage and the opening theme in Second Stage, but it is better then their song used in the second opening theme in First Stage. In the end, Initial D: Third Stage is a great sequel to the Initial D series. You need to have past experience with the previous installments of the series in order to watch this so that you can get a better feel for the characters and the plot of both First Stage & Second Stage combined.
