BrianOrndorf.comBrian OrndorfIt's on the sloppy side, but the primary textures of alarm are sustained and sharply performed, making for a gut-wrenching viewing experience with a foundation in reality that's too awful to bear.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzThe unpleasant narrative makes for a disturbing but not a good drama.
eFilmCritic.comErik ChildressThe makers of In Her Skin must be prepared to cut a check to anyone who ever read, wrote, made, or saw The Lovely Bones.
User ReviewPaul KAn absolutely amazing performance by an unknown actress...Ruth Bradley. I won't give away any of the movie, but this is a must see. I would hand her the Oscar right now.
User ReviewKevin RRuth Bradley (Caroline) is an amazing actress! I wish there were more movies with her in to be honest.
User ReviewNick BThis is a deeply moving film, based on a true story. I remember reading about this murder in the newspaper and thinking it was creepy and haunting. The movie captures the mood perfectly and is beautifully acted, in particular by Guy Pearce, and Mirando Otto who play the parents.
User ReviewDee Pdesperation in a disturbing way. sort of like The Lovely Bones, but not subtle.
User ReviewChris BAn absolutely amazing performance by an unknown actress...Ruth Bradley. I won't give away any of the movie, but this is a must see. I would hand her the Oscar right now.
User ReviewSally MAn enormously underrated film. It's depiction of the real-life Australian crime, dramatic, and sometimes, even disturbing scenes in the flick gives the audience a slice of what has occurred. Gives a drastic twist to the normal, 'missing-person, hot detective gets the case solved' movie. This really would give that good bolt the watcher is highly recommended to see.
User ReviewvisitorQ Snot since the talented Mr Ripley has there been such an amazing portrayal of the desire to live another life. without giving too much away i think that this movie was fantastic. shows different perspectives of one event, and is acted beautifully. i really don't understand why more people aren't crazy about this movie. i thought it was moving, and such a deep portrait of mental illness and the long ingrained need we all have to get our parents approval.
