In an attempt to reclaim his sanity, Stan goes on a remote journey deep in the New Zealand forest, with a group of other mysterious trampers. But when he wakes up on the first morning to find one of his tramping party dead, Stanley finds himself caught up in a real life scenario that is far too reminiscent of one of his own plot lines. With blood on his hands, and his delusional nightmares out of control, Stanley is faced with the very real possibility that this story may in fact be reality, one which he now has to try and keep secret. Shot almost entirely against the stunning backdrop of New Zealand's native rain forests, I'm Not Harry Jenson is a thought provoking murder mystery that crescendos to a finale full of surprise and intrigue.

| User ReviewRobert CThis movie is all about suspense and mood. It draws you in slowly, pacing its narrative out methodically and very effectively. Although quite dark at times, there is definitely a black humour to it, and the actors all shine in their various roles. Some twists didn't feel as necessary, but the pay off was worth it. Beautifully shot and very well directed, and a powerful lead performance which all help to lift this film up above it's low-budget. |

The big pitch was surely "Deliverance meets Ten Little Indians meets Barton Fink", treading ground as it does, already covered many times by others but with some nice little character moments. It's particularly pleasing to see the old acting firmament of Ian Mune and Ilona Rodgers still strutting their stuff through the dense NZ bush. |
