Full Plot Details

Josh Fosse is a 20something guy whose life is going nowhere. His girl left, his rent is late, and he lacks a real job. He is trying to make it as an app reviewer online and decides to review a self help app called i-Lived for fun. He's signs on and immediately his life turns around. He meets the girl of his dreams and he gets a job offer he can't refuse. Convinced it's him and not the app, he signs out... and loses everything. He signs on again but this time the terms are different, the app is asking him to do things that are out of his moral comfort zone... but essential to becoming the success the app tells him he can be.

By the end, the movie doesn't tell the audience anything. Predictable but also confusing as hell, lame, emotionless, a complete mess.
User Review - 2/10 by Farah RThe film starts badly with an annoying, talentless millennial making appalling reviews of apps in the hope of getting internet famous. He downloads an app called I-Lived (LAME) where you input your goals. He superficially asks for abs, then a girlfriend because he is a loser. When he meets a girl it is so unbelievably stupid, like a thirteen year old's version of a hot girl. Serious suspension of disbelief is required to think that the Joan Jet type with a kids wet dream version of a car would find this no talent, broke and ugly loser attractive. Yet she does. He annoys all the way through. He is asked to do 6 good deeds. He has a dying mother and a landlady who he has not paid rent to for three months. Good deed opportunities on the doorstep really. Yet he is so shallow he goes the line of least effort (lazy millennial), and tries to help an old lady across the road, then opens doors for people as his pathetic lazy attempt at good deeds. He is told by the app to wear nice clothes, so he steals a 2300 dollar suit. Etc. Eventually it turns out that the app is symbolic of making a deal with the Devil but by this stage you are banging your head against the coffee table. I get that this is meant to be social media = making a deal with the devil, the idea has promise but it is woeful to endure this person. I would give this zero stars if I could.
