Jam! MoviesJim SlotekIf you love standup comedy -- I mean, really love it -- then I Am Comic is a flawed must-see.
User ReviewDave GA fairly entertaining documentary about the rigor and work ethic of stand up comics. Not as engaging as it could have been, but it's neat to see comedians analyzing their craft.
User ReviewLuke WAn interesting look at the world of stand-up comedy, from comedy clubs to the writing process.
User ReviewChristina EAfter listening to Steve Martin's autobiography and watching this - you must have a lot of faith to be a comic...I appreciate anyone who can make me laugh and it's sad there is a lot of talent out there that never quite is mainstream
User ReviewEvan KA funny documentary that goes into what it takes and a behind the scenes look at stand up. Features a wide variety of comics from (majority of whom I like and some I love) Jim Gaffigan to Louis C.K. who talk about the craft and business of stand up comedy. Todd Glass, Nick Kroll and Larry Miller were hilarious! It was both insightful and funny. Worth checking out if your a fan of stand up comedy and like the comics featured in the film.
User ReviewEvan BFeatures a lot of my favorite comics, and you really get a feel for the life and process of stand-up comedians today.
User ReviewThomas MA great kung fu movie will convince you of your total badassery. This documentary about the comedian life and work ethic will tempt you to take the stage and America's laughs for yourself.
User ReviewKevin CGood little documentary that allows you to understand the struggles that a stand up comic goes through in their career. Their are some great moments of comedy obviously. I would of liked to see more of an examination of the depression that comics seem to suffer from, but over all, it was an entertaining documentary. Anytime you interview comics in their regular life settings, they tend to be able to be really funny, and there was a lot of this in the film. Good Concept OK Execution. Watch it!
User ReviewPatrick FA funny and insightful documentary about the behind-the-scenes of stand-up comedy. Comedians can get a little pretensious about their craft, but it's interesting to hear the scientific thought behind getting up in front of an audience and telling jokes. Also, unlike some other similar documentaries, this one is really funny.
User ReviewNavin JExcellent show that shows you how close various comedians are to each and the things that they have to give up to get that high that comes from having a successful night in front of a crowd. The documentary talks to all the large acts and you get a feel for what the person behind the comedian is actually like.
