Times (UK) - 4/10 by Wendy IdeThe story of Hustlers Convention is important. It is, we are told repeatedly, the hip-hop missing link. Unfortunately, this documentary is too chaotic and distracted to mount much of a case.
User Review - 10/10 by Jack LAbsolutely brilliant, I saw an early screening of the film and found it to be a fantastic piece of history that shone a light on the origins of a subject matter that seems to have forgotten its roots. The story comes alive as it is told, without this film I doubt the story of Hustlers Convention and this side of the origins of rap music would be remembered. This film really highlighted for me how important recording history can be and how a camera can stop time from removing a story from the face of history.
