User Review - 10/10 by Christopher SLaurene Landon stars in this sword-and-sorcery as Hundra, the last of her tribe of fierce women warriors. Her tribe is killed by a bunch of men one day for no apparent reason. Her destiny is to rebuild her tribe by being impregnated by a man. Hundra isn't really all about that. She'd rather fight men. Anyway, she gets revenge on the hunters who killed her friends in a pretty cool scene. Later, she meets a nice guy & is swept off her feet because he isn't a douchebag like all of the other guys. She then lets herself get "captured" by some prince's men. The prince comes off as an ancient pimp of sorts with an overly gay right hand man because he captures girls to be slaves for the chieftans. The reason she lets herself get "captured" is because she wants to become more lady-like for the nice guy, a doctor named Pateray. She is then taught to be more lady like by all of the lady slaves & Tracima, their teacher. Tracima is hella beautiful as is Laurene of course. Hundra then teaches Tracima to fight. Finally, she gets pregnant by Pateray & has a baby girl, which is part of her destiny to rebuild her tribe. Her daughter is held hostage by pimp prince & gay sidekick due to Tracima's betrayal due to fear. Hundra is forced to bow to the chieftans & their bull, which is a god to them I guess. Pateray & Tracima save the day by getting the baby & her weaponry. Hundra then kills all of the chieftans badass Laurene Landon style. The gay sidekick is killed by Tracima while she tries to save the baby & her son a bit earlier. The pimp prince is killed when all of the women slaves ravage him....with one sitting on his face to smother him. I kid you not. Hundra then rides off with her baby & her dog, Beast(I think that's his name). End. This movie was pretty fun. I enjoyed it immensely. Just clocks in at a little under 2 hours but I was entertained the entire time. Watching Laurene wield a sword & kick ass is quite the treat. She did all of her own stuntwork too except for The only where she fell backwards from a 180 foot tower. I'm sure she got a little banged up from the stunts she did do. I noticed that she gave a dude a legdrop too. It wasn't preceeded by a big boot & a Hulk-Up though. She also gave another guy a standing fireman's carry through a table. Laurene is a tough one! She even got harassed by a midget with a pitchfork on a midget horse that was probably a pony or a mule or something. The midget's face was painted Braveheart style. She didn't kill the guy but she broke his pitchfork in half. My favourite scene was when she got back at the hunters. She really fucked 'em up. She kicked one guy's head off after cutting his throat with her sword. The score by Ennio Morricone is quite good. A disc of the score was included with the DVD. Also, the scenery & photography of this film is absolutely beautiful. It's a treat to look at while Laurene is out kicking ass. Check it out! PS The best thing of all: Hundra's battle cry. YAAAWWWW!

User Review - 4/10 by Richard LThis is entertaining, but confusing. It is mostly very serious and hard, but at times almost slapstick. The musical score is good, sometimes baroque, sometimes almost soviet-like. Men are depicted as the worst worthless beings you can imagine, and Hundra - who is understandably pissed - trashes them with her mighty horse, her fearful dog, and her plastic two-handed sword.

User Review - 4/10 by Mike BHundra has great locations and production value (leftovers from the previous year's Conan the Barbarian), plus a score by Ennio Morricone. The story, the acting, and (most unfortunately) the action are less than stellar. It's essentially a women's lib Barbarian epic. Hundra is a woman without a people -- her Amazonian tribe gets wiped out in a scene swiped from Conan -- so she goes on a quest to find a man. That's right, she'll repopulate her people one female baby at a time. Along the way, she learns that most men are pigs, but occasionally they can be sensitive and good-hearted... how sweet. After picking up make-up tips from a slave/priestess, she returns the favor by passing on some fight moves. Really, though, Hundra's fight scenes lack punch. There's no technique to the brawling, and this lack of precision ultimately hurts the film. The new Subversive Cinema DVD has a documentary, "Hunting Hundra," a commentary, a new comic book (!), and a bonus soundtrack disc. The operatic music is Morricone's repurposing of works by Verde, and it suits the swordplay genre perfectly.
