AboutFilm.comCarlo CavagnaThe difference between Withnail and I and this film is that here, Robinson is trying to deliver a message instead of focusing on his characters. Mistake.
TheMovieReport.comMichael DequinaThanks to Grant's bravura performance, the film is wickedly enjoyable.
City Pages, Minneapolis/St. PaulRob NelsonThe running gag is that [this film about advertising] takes its own high-concept formula of a yuppie's just desserts and whips it up with more tang than any consumer could want.

User Reviewyou kAn ad-man tries to separate himself from all the greed in the world and in the process grows a split personality that manifests itself in the form of a large talking boil on his shoulder. Richard E. Grant's performance and some great writing make this film absolutely hilarious. *edit* After a a couple rewatches I've bumped this up to five stars. It's just so damn deliciously cynical, I love it. Maybe one of my favorite comedies.
