Film Threat - 5/10 by Norm GidneyIt's clear that effort went into the making of Elm Lake. The blood and gore effects are acceptable, the story could have only used a few rewrites, and the cast is strong. Yet it's so close to being watchable that it's almost a crime that it falls short.
Reel Reviews - 4/10 by Frank Wilkins... simply too many "seen that before" moments and not enough "well, that was cool" surprises to make it a strong recommend.

User Review - 4/10 by Nathalie SI think people who actually watch horror movies realized that this is the same story of '' Amityville horror'' just by reading the description.... I watched anyways, the movie is not that bad, it's just there's nothing new anymore, nothing surprising or nothing worth seeing and also I think that if you're trying to make a movie that's based on a good movie (Amityville horror) it has to be great movie... In conclusion don't expect it to be a good movie and maybe you'll like it.
