Freedom of movement, the right to education, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation are some of the systematic abuses explored in depth. The film gives a platform to exclusively female voice and seeks to expose the paralyzing political correctness that prevents many from identifying, understanding and addressing this international human rights disaster. More than a movie, Honor Diaries is a movement meant to inspire viewers to learn more about issues facing women in Muslim-majority societies, and to act for change.

User ReviewClaudette AHow barbaric these practices are and for the women and men that still encourage them. These laws are made by men to control women and are unjust. To give a woman 40 lashes because she isn't dressed properly or cut off her nose and ear for allegedly looking at a man. Disgusting!
User ReviewJulian CThis is a very powerful film that embraces the union of women no matter what background they come from to fight against honor violence. I was a little bit disappointed that the film is only an hour long. It's definitely very informative and entertaining but I was left wanting more and I think the film deserves to be longer. Quality is great and script was well put together. If you have no idea what "honor violence" is you will after you watch it. I loved absolutely every single activist in the film being Raquel Saraswati my favorite and I was left with this feeling of wanting to help and do more for this cause that has become a global issue. I would definitely recommend this film to anybody.
User ReviewLeesa MA good beginners look at the struggles of Muslim women. However, I think actual more survival tales would be helpful.
