Leave your thoughts about Hollidaysburg.
Hollywood ReporterFrank ScheckDespite its gimmicky provenance, Hollidaysburg proves to be a nicely low-key, unassuming coming-of-age tale about a group of former high school friends reuniting in their Pennsylvania small town during Thanksgiving college break.
Village VoiceChris PackhamMartemucci intertwines these stories gracefully, and with the charm and charisma of her cast, makes clever banter and script contrivances seem completely natural and unaffected.
Los Angeles TimesGary GoldsteinThough Hollidaysburg may not break tons of new ground, it's smart, warm and authentic — one of the better youth comedies of the last few years.
Film ThreatElias SavadaThe hormones run hot in Pennsylvania. The weather, cold. The talk is constant. The marijuana plentiful. The action minimal.
The New York TimesDaniel M. GoldHollidaysburg is a pleasant if unremarkable coming-of-age film.
User ReviewPaige NVery pleasantly surprised by this movie! This is one of the most accurate coming of age movies I've ever seen. I've been in/related to literally every situation in this movie. The actors are so natural I felt like I was just watching stories from other people from my high school. Movies NEVER keep my attention now a days and I didn't want this movie to end! Yeah, it's not the best movie ever because the subject matter is fairly simple but it knows what it is and it's pretty damn great for being a simple coming of age story. The characters are relatable and you feel for them because you've had so many similar thoughts and feelings yourself. Very impressed with this one 5 stars! Excellent directing debut
User ReviewFrances HWatched the Chair, and I had to see this movie. I am a writer at heart and love movies, and Hollidaysburg was amazing for a directorial debut. There were imperfections, but just knowing that this is a first time director, I filtered everything through that lens, and this movie is pretty great. I think a certain age group will probably like it more than others, I'm 37. It reminds me of Reality Bites and kind of John Hughes' stuff. It's just life, and the way the story is told, the editing, and the one-liners are really funny. Makes me want to make a movie, or write a script.
User ReviewClayton BI liked the story, and the subtle comedy. This was an indie film, which while I feel could be improved; I enjoyed it for what it was.
User ReviewSteve SHollidaysburg a film about love, friends, family, and even pies. Set in the small town of Hollidaysburg, college kids must rethink over their lives during their Thanksgiving break. This movie shows first time director Anna Martemucci, her potential of becoming a great director or even the next John Hughes with her beautiful cinematography and direction with the actors.
