User ReviewChristopher BYou'd be shocked to hear this is a shinya tsukamoto movie. Has a much more lighter and mainstream feel, this film is very good so give it a scary try.
User ReviewPrivate UBasically a Japanese take on THE EVIL DEAD, from the director of the TETSUO films. This was made way back when not every Japanese horror movie was just a variation on RINGU.
User ReviewCathleen KDon't start watching this movie expecting another Tetsuo or you'll be disappointed. If you can watch it for what it is, a cheesy horror movie with a low budget and that classic japanese humor then you wont be disappointed.
User ReviewGodfrey CTsukamoto proves he can use a camera in a more conventional sense with this super-fun, super-gory horror-comedy. While some technical elements are heavily borrowed from The Evil Dead and The Thing, this is definitely no rip-off. A great time, and a film that deserves to go in the "great movies to discover in high school" file right next to Evil Dead 2 and Re-Animator.
User ReviewKaneda !Flesh + Blood - This movie is WEIRD. 6.5/10 The Aviator - After Gangs I was worried that Marty was loosing it. I am reassured he is fine with this one. Fighter in the Wind - A very solid Kung Fu flick, quite enjoyable. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll beg for more. 8/10 - stupid movie finder... Sword in the Moon - CHAOTIC editing...geez, one flashback lasted half and hour! Hell, I'm forgetting what is going on back in the future, or...wait...what? I'm lost. Still the fighting was sweet. Stander - Not bad for direct to video. Also, this may be the only movie ever that Debra Kara Unger didn't bare all. Hiroku the Goblin - This movie was great...this is one of the fun horror films that I wish I had on my resume. Silly at times, bloody as hell, and even a couple righteous scares. Plus, some good special effects at the end. If you liked Tetsuo: The Iron Man, you must check this out. 8.5/10
User ReviewCountess NBeing Tsukamoto's first and only studio piece, I think its obvious, the ferocity and raw qualitys of his work are far from present. Even though this may be a drawback it's still got his charm, the shots are brilliant and there are even more than a few "jump" moments that I havent had in a long time. Seeing little heads run around on spider legs and jump on your face and stick their veiny tongue down your throat and make you commit suicide, I thought that was kinda cool. His pessimism is long gone aswell, where normall his films leave you feeling unfinished, this one wraps everything up with a nice pretty bow, for me, that was just too weird for a Shinya piece. Not to say this was a bad film or anything, buy any other standards it would be great, just not up there with his other work.
User ReviewChris ACrazy ass movie! Not everyone is going to appreciate it by a long shot but a must-see if you are interested in the genre.
User ReviewPeter HKind of cheesy and silly but overall not a bad flick to watch if you like weird spidery headed demons.
User ReviewTristan PI don't know which were scarier, the spider-goblins or the space worms.
