User ReviewJason DWhat a story! the film itself was actually really good with humorous twists here and there- and a glorious body count with also brittain frye who played ken in slumber party massacre III One of the other best 80s slasher films! BEST ever!!!
User ReviewDougal SIncredibly fun 80's slasher movie. Love the use of women's clothing with the killer.
User ReviewChris MA great slasher flick from the late 80's that uses the traditional ingredients like Sleepaway Camp did to create an enjoyable and towards the end very creepy flick. There was nothing really innovative with the camera work nor direction, the acting ranged from decent to terrible and the gore level was low, but that is what made this so enjoyable. Hide and Go Shriek doesn't try to be something it is not and it didn't try to revive the at-the-time dying slasher genre. Intruder came out during the same year as this and they are both set in stores and both very good(I can't believe the genre was dying then!!!). Intruder was set in a grocery store and HaGS in a furniture store. Although the gore levels don't quit reach the levels of Intruder, HaGS creates as much suspense and the use of the set was possibly used to greater effect. If you don't mind a bit of sleaziness and even a bit of homoerotic subtext in your slasher films, you may find Hide and Go Shriek to be a really enjoyable film.
