The film is based on the life and times of a superstar heroine from the dream factory we call 'Bollywood'. The film is a daring, shocking, glamorous, scandalous behind the scenes account of the reality behind the world of glitz and glamour that our film stars inhabit. For a country obsessed with films and film stars, Heroine will take audiences on a voyeuristic journey to see what really goes on behind the closed doors of make up rooms and vanity vans. It will give them a chance to go beyond the gorgeous smiles and politically correct quotes, to see what really happens in the lives of India's sweethearts. The bitching and the politics, the secrets and the lies, the incredible highs of fame and the lonely depths of failure.

User Review - 10/10 by familiar sWoW! Totally wasn't prepared for this movie! Thought I'd have it on in the background while I wrote my paper but it took over my evening. Arjun was great as always with his chill persona and good looks but Kareena's role overpowered the movie. It was a dark movie, but had you hooked unlike any other of its type like Dirty Picture or Fashion.

I felt the film was well put together and it suited my taste. I do however understand why the audience didn't respond the same way. So my rating has more to do with my personal taste rather than agreeing with the crowd.

He was able to keep the storyline engaging throughout without even a few major twists, as the script stayed pretty much the same throughout and was well balanced. Kareena really lived this part and performed brilliantly. She was perfectly cast for this part. Arjun Rampal also acted extremely well but he didn't have too big of a part. This movie should definitely have been more music-based though, as that could have added an extra element and dimension to the narrative.
