In the deep, rude and fearful wilderness, Ann, a solitary woman, is foraging for food relying on her limited survival skills. At the same time, in the wake of an apocalyptic global catastrophe, an appalling and virulent epidemic has already decimated most of the population, severely infecting its remaining carriers with symptoms including delirium and unpredictable behaviour coupled with aggressive outbursts. Inevitably, now that Ann's husband and baby daughter have ultimately succumbed to the invisible and inescapable plague, her days are filled with memories of a not-so-distant life defined by order and security, forcing occasionally the wary woman to hazard raids to nearby farmhouses for supplies. During one of those desperate runs, Ann will discover teenage Olivia and her wounded stepfather Chris who intend to head north, nevertheless, the quiet but ominous stillness is always blemished by the certitude that danger is everywhere, in the shape of ravenous, half-human flesh-eating predators. Under those circumstances, who shall live and who shall die?

The Hollywood NewsKat HughesBeautifully shot and perfectly paced Here Alone is the zombie film for those who want more than just gore and head shots. An emotional journey that focuses in on character relationships and the human psyche.

Village VoiceTatiana CraineAlthough writer David Ebeltoft's post-apocalyptic story feels familiar at times (reminiscent of parts of Stephen King's The Stand), the scenery and Blackhurst's direction make Here Alone a verdant, suspenseful treat.
The New York TimesJeannette CatsoulisMore psychodrama than postapocalyptic adventure, the movie parcels out its scares in small, effective jolts, delivering just enough menace to remind us of the stakes.
Film InquiryJacqui BlueHere Alone is definitely not the worst zombie movie I've ever seen, but I won't be recommending it to any of my zombie enthusiast friends either.
Screen ZealotsLouisa MooreLow budget films lend themselves well to survivalist, zombie-laden subject matter, and Here Alone fits perfectly within that genre.
Screen CommentNathanael Hood...feels like a ninety-minute compilation of filler material.
Los Angeles TimesNoel MurrayThis is the first act of a better movie, stretched to fill a feature.
Film Journal InternationalMaitland McDonaghThree survivors of a lethal virus form an uneasy alliance in this post-apocalyptic drama that prioritizes relationships over shocks.
We Got This CoveredMatt DonatoHere Alone is a sometimes-striking, sometimes-repetitive glimpse into apocalyptic drama that struggles to offer anything new.
