Flo proceeds to make life unendurable to her, and she finally decides to take her to her guardian. Eliza, the spinster, writes to Bob, informing him of her coming. However, before they arrive, Bob flees to the country, instructing his lawyer to tell his ward that he has gone to Europe. Flo and Eliza return home, Flo disappointed and the spinster angry. Eventually, Bob turns up in the neighborhood, amusing himself with fishing, but unaware that his ward lives so close. Bob decides that the creek is better for swimming purposes than fishing, and so takes a dip. His clothes are stolen by a tramp. He, in turn, steals the clothes from a scarecrow. Flo meets him, and, in pity, secures him a job on the farm. Bob soon finds himself in love with the girl. When he discovers his relationship to her there is considerable surprise, but love makes all the difference in the world.
