A very adult psychological mystery. Carla is desperate to have a child, but her husband Bill is infertile. When she meets a mysterious couple, Molly and Jack who are visiting from New York, she is instantly attracted to Jack, and invites them to stay with them for the evening. Bill gets suspicious of them, but his judgment is obscured by his attraction to the enigmatic Molly. Molly teases and leads him on while insisting that they have met before. Meanwhile, the sexual chemistry between Jack and Carla is electric. Their flirtation leads to a drunken midnight stroll and passionate lovemaking in the woods. When they return to the house it becomes clear that their arrival may not be a coincidence as their attitude becomes more threatening. Molly tells Bill a strange and erotic tale written by her 10-year-old daughter, whose name is also Carla. Bill becomes frustrated and alarmed, and insists that this taunting, perverse couple leave their house. After Bill and Carla have gone to sleep, the visitors will return, leading to an act of brutal violence and heartbreak. Is this a story of a mother's revenge or the prophecy of an unborn child?

User ReviewNicole iA surreal film with twists, turns and raw sensuality.
User ReviewJames H48/100. This is a very very slow moving film. The score mirrors that and sounds like it has been played in slow motion. Often there are scenes that are in slow motion, not a good thing for a movie that crawls along at a snails pace. It has fine cinematography, the acting by everyone is quite good, and Julianne Nicholson is very genuine and terrific, but none of that matters much if you are bored to death.
User ReviewSuzie LCould have been a great movie if the acting wasn't so bad and the dialogues weren't half baked. Illogical incongruous conversations... spicy frolicking.
