This film takes place during one night in the quiet neighborhood of Heliopolis in Cairo. The films jumps between the stories of six people. While a soldier stands on guard and a hotel receptionists disappears in her imaginary life in Paris, a couple is hunting for an apartment, Ibrahim is researching minorities, and Hany is preparing to migrate to Canada. None of them will achieve what they intended to achieve today. The day will be repeated almost identically tomorrow.... (Full plot summary below)

| User ReviewHagar HThat was .. Different!!! But not everything that is different is interesting! Somehow I didn't get the point of the movie. I read an article where the director said it's about our everyday lives & events and I get it that he wanted to make a movie about normal people that we can relate to, but still that wasn't interesting for me. Maybe it could be good for people who dunno much about Egyptians for example and how they live their lives! |

| User ReviewLilian WAlthough vey good shouting and strong idea .. but the director fails to attract you through the events of the movie The acting is not very well in my opinion , except Hani Adel , althoguh Khalde Abu elnagga is a very good actor and can do better. the losely attached events and slowing moving picture make you get bored at some parts of the movie.. I think it could be made better than that. |

The thing bugging me the most about this movie is that it's directed by someone who worked as an editor first, and usually those who make that transition from editing to directing have a great sense of pacing and continuity, they know which shots cut and which don't, but this movie had some of the worst planned shots and editing I've ever seen, and a very messed up pacing... The script was SO bad, sure the concept might have sounded good, but the actual execution was just terrible, if you're making a movie about things going stale, you have to deliver the emotions but still keep me hooked, if you wanna show me that nothing is happening, you have to figure out how to show that to me with things actually happening on screen. I've been hearing good things about Microphone, the director's sophomore feature, and I really hope it makes up for this mess! |
