| User ReviewBobby LA very thrilling opening that grabbed me from the get-go is the highlight, but the rest of the movie doesn't disappoint. The acting is solid, for an Asylum flick, the music is amazing, and isn't too loud, as can happen on some of their productions. The scares and tension hold up the entire time, and the main characters are quite likable. The discussion of the "stages of ghosts", which is part of the rather good, only a little cliched reason for the hauntings is fairly original, as is the paranormal expert in the film, who could have easily become a pain, but is my favorite character. The plot takes a decent time setting up everyone and their relationships, and unlike it's major counterpoint (A Haunting In Connecticut), none of the characters here are superfluous and all contributed a little something. Also unlike the major one, here, the ending is stupid, convoluted, nor happen in a span of three minutes, and it helps that the ending is rather ingenious and very smart. This just became one of my favorite Asylum films! |
