| User ReviewAl MHaunting of Cellblock 11 (aka Apparitional) was obviously made with care by fans of the genre. It has a decent story with some great scares and good FX. It has a talented cast that shares some real chemistry. And it has that cool indie-horror vibe. Unfortunately what it also has is every genre stereotype that could be crammed in (visual, characterization, dialogue, plot; you name it, it's here). They are so prevalent that they actually keep the movie from achieving its full potential. I wish the filmmakers had had more faith in themselves, that could have turned "fun and watchable" into "awesome!" |
| User ReviewNarae PI could not get through this movie. This movie was impressively bad in pretty much every way. The camerawork just completely missed the mark. It felt like watching a bad 1980's sitcom trying to produce a movie within the show. The acting was some of the worst I've seen, it felt like they were almost not taking the movie seriously. So bad. |
| User ReviewElizabeth GI paid to watch this after seeing it had 57 100% reviews on some website. I can only assume those 57 people were staff working with the production of this B movie. To put it into context, it IS a B movie with less than average acting, a predictable storyline and I turned it off at 58 minutes in because it was THAT transparent and weak. The only positive thing I can say about it is the concept is current and has not been done to death, that being a TV show ghost hunting crew. The had researched the equipment used and how paranormal investigators went about their "hunts" but it took 40 minutes before anything actually happened and when it did you could see it coming a mile away. I feel robbed by Sky for charging me the same money it would cost to watch a proper movie. B movies can be good and become cult movies, this is not one of them. |
