User ReviewFrank MI liked it, but I prefer the whole version and not the director's cut version.
User ReviewDonald ZPros: Funny at times, the animation got better. Cons: The beginning had terrible animation.
User ReviewCharles CBy far one of my favorite stop motion animations ever. The action, the comedy, the music, its all good fun for kids and adults!
User ReviewI Am a Big Bug.I loved gumby cause I watched it as a child. Its adorable, innocent. although its extremely corny.
User ReviewAndy GDon't you love these old films! Gumby rocks and thats all that needs to be said!
User ReviewElly P2/12/16 Growing up as a kid I was OBSESSED with this movie! So much so that all these years later I still remembered the whole plot and characters perfectly. I honestly have no idea why. My best guess is because it is so different from anything else ever created. It is an extremely basic stop motion with extremely minimalist characters and plot. It is more than obvious to see that this stop motion was put together with a small team and very basic directions, but that is what makes it so great. The characters (especially Gumby) are more than aware of the fact that they are just made of clay. They don't mind getting cut into little pieces because they know they can stick back together and change into whatever object they wish. Another thing I think that drew me to this movie as a kid was the world these characters live in. They all come from books or VHS tapes and can willingly travel between them to have the most bizarre experiences. For anyone who wasn't around when this movie was made or are in the mood for a simple blast from the past, please check out this movie. It isn't high budget and squeaky clean like stop motion of today. It is simple and isn't perfect, but that's what makes it so great.
User ReviewJosh AIt's Gumby, for God's sake. What more needs to be said?
User ReviewPeter MMy grandpa's last film before he had a stroke, has great fan service, and it was made in 97 not 57, otherwise the camera used would be state of the art.
User ReviewRay JI liked this one although the storyline isn't the greatest. Brought back memories. Gee Pokey, ya think we'll get to the fair on time?
