| User ReviewKeenan SGreen Mansions is pretty much considered to be one of the all-time worst films Audrey Hepburn ever appeared in...but I adore Green Mansions. It's one of the weirdest, most lurid, beautiful, oddly compelling messes I've ever seen. It's chock-full of many interesting ideas and I loved the blend of romance, fantasy, and adventure even if the ideas didn't always come together as planned. I fell in love with this strange film and I was certainly never bored even during the moments that are admittedly flawed. It's so deliciously weird and surreal that I fell in love with it in all its glorious weirdness. I don't care that this film is considered terrible, I love it and it's now among my favorite romance films even though it probably shouldn't be. If you love weird films, you must see Green Mansions because it is unlike anything you will ever see. |

I watched it several times many years ago with my mother and its memory is still vibrantly clear in my mind. I've got to see it again ... and I'm sure again! |

| User ReviewHaileyyear 1900 in the south american rain forest surrrounded by savage indians when abel comes to there village in search of gold to get revenge against his fathers assassins, the chief of the tribe doesint trust him, when he goes into the forbidden forest in serch of the gold...he is captured by the beauty of this wild nature, all the animales, coriously he serches on, he comes scrosses a small river pool and neals to get a drink, as he cups some water in his hands and drinks the water in the reflection he sees a girl, he stops and looks up but then see disapears like a water color in the rain, he stands and looks to find her |

| User ReviewAndrew PBeautiful! That's how I'd describe this movie. Perkins and Hepburn are fantastic in this movie, and the rest of the cast is great too. The story has adventure and romance combined wonderfully. Some scenes in the beginning are a bit slow and slightly boring, but it doesn't matter in the end. The ending is perfect. I really enjoyed this movie, and I highly recommend this movie. |
| User ReviewKatie MSo many harp on Tony and Audrey being "miscast" in this, but come on -- that's only because they were stepping out of their comfort zones for a change. If this had been the film debut for both, nobody would have had anything negative to say. I thought they were both great. Audrey was perfectly acceptable as an engimatic jungle nymph, and Tony could easily pull off being of some sort of Hispanic descent. Give 'em a break! |
