With only a week left before he graduates high school in the small Middle Western community of Grandview, the eighteen-year-old dreamer, Tim Pearson, is itching to renounce an uninspiring scholarship, stand up to his despotic father and pursue a career in oceanography, away from home. Curtis is particularly impressive in the strength and maturity she brings to a role written as pure fantasy.

Thomas Howell, Jamie Lee Curtis and Patrick Swayze star in this classic 1984 comedy-drama movie about life in a small town. A high school kid, who has dreams to go study oceanography falls for an older woman and another man is in love with her, a love triangle happens. Jennifer Jason Leigh, the late Troy Donahue, William Windom, John Philbin, Ramon Bieri and Carole Cook are great supporting cast members.

Thomas Howell) he grew up soo Fast.......one of the best scene in this movie is when Tim (Tommy Howell) is in a MTV dream singing "Steely Man of Action" it's areally catchy song. and it's nice to see both Tommy Howell and Patrick Swayze in movies togehter after The Outiders............xD I loooove this movie!
