| User ReviewClint RWhat stood out most to me about this film were some of the stunning still images. I enjoyed the way the movie was shot and how various scenes were crafted. This movie captures the essence of a small town in an authentic manner, as well. this was a very solid first film for director and writer josh doke. there are some real glimpses of greatness in Goodland. I look forward to seeing some of his future projects. |
| User ReviewDean SSeems promising at first with some excellent performances especially by Matt Weiss and Sara Kennedy. Be on the lookout for these two talented actors in the future. The problem is that the writers started off with a blatant clone of Fargo: small town, intuitive female Sheriff, mysterious murder - and then it never pays off. There are a few surprises that keep your interest but in the end the movie, and its ending, with far too much formula and a lack of originality, leave you feeling empty - like you were tricked into wasting your time watching it. |
