Projection BoothRob Humanick"Just as brilliant, beautiful, and entertaining as Romero's first zombie masterpiece."
Movie MetropolisChristopher LongIron-clad-nutso proof that a film can be simultaneously ridiculous and smart, and should not be confused for disposable camp.
Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN)John BeifussAn astonishment from start to finish, from its vivid opening shot of a passenger plane in an obviously artificial sky that resembles a 'sea of blood' to the complementary final image of an invading armada of flying saucers.
User ReviewSilje FSuicidal birds, vampires and a weird American lady. <3
User ReviewEric R"Goke the Bodysnatcher" was a big influence on Hausu. An over the top, stylish, colorful, exotic, supernatural, often times silly, sci-fi vampire movie. An obvious rip-off (or maybe remake) of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers but inventive special effects give it a life of its own.
User ReviewChris GGreat reputation. Does it deserve? I think so.
User ReviewChristopher BGruesome and bizzare sci-fi entertainment. This holds up surprisingly well. Highly recommended for nuts of the genre.
User ReviewMitchell C"It is one deliriously pole-axed masterpiece that haunts the memories of all those lucky enough to have seen it." Can't really say it better myself. Saw it really late on TCM and it felt like one of those movies, as a kid you, shouldn't watch cause it was on so late and it's subject matter wasn't exactly appropriate, but you do anyway and you end up being hypnotized by it. Tarantino used alot of references to it in Kill Bill.
User ReviewColin ZA VERY unusual Sci Fi/horror flick from Japan. While it's '60s origin gives it a bit of a campy look, there is NOTHING silly about this moody, occasionally surreal, and often psychological film. Worth tracking down.
User ReviewEric HDelightfully morbid ending. Overall good alien invasion genre pic. Great animated characters.
