Antagony & EcstasyTim BraytonA long, directionless, life-stealing amble through a plot that just never, ever starts to make sense.
User ReviewJoseph LGameraaaaaaaaaaaaa! Gameraaaaaaaaaaaaa! Gamera is really neat! Gamera is filled with meat! We belive in Ga-Me-Raaaaa!
User ReviewTim SLet's start with the good things. Zigra's design is cool. The idea of him using telepathic communication was pretty cool too. There's also a few shots of Gamera walking around while breathing fire, which I found impressive. I always thought that the close-ups of Gamera breathing fire were done with a seperate model (probably were up until this one) This being the follow-on from Gamera vs. Jiger, did make it seem bad. Partially due to the fact that Zigra doesn't show up for the first half of the movie, partially due to the fact that Gamera uses him as a xylophone (Yeah! It happens!) Having watched the dub, I want to see the Japanese cut, I have seen some of the scenes not in the American cut, which made the continuity poor in places. Gamera vs. Zigra is not the greatest in the Showa series, far from it. But you just have to remember, It's Gamera! and It's a kids film, It's not meant to make sense
User ReviewMichael BNot a bad Djaiku movie. It's just formulaic.
User ReviewBrady SZigra is a worthy Opponent for Gamera, but a magnitude 13, really movie really!!!!!!! and Zigra keeps on bullshitting how he wants to take over The world, well for starters you technically took over the world and he still does nothing, this movie could've had a lot of Potential, don't get me wrong the monster Battles were ok. but the over the top comedy was horrible
User ReviewSylvester KHad some good moments, but this one really dragged.
User ReviewGraydon BThe last (main) Gamera film (the 1980 doesn't count to me) Gamera vs Zigra is bad, but is a very entertaining kaiju flick!
User ReviewHans MMST3K version. Ok, so I thought Gamera versus Guiron was just about as bad as a Gamera movie could be. Oh boy, was I wrong! Gamera vs. Zigra makes Gamera vs. Guiron look like a Merchant Ivory film. 'nuff said.
User ReviewAlex CPainful to watch movie for children, with the monster on monster combat taking place way too late into the film.
User ReviewJason PI have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that this is the 4th best flying turtle movie I have ever seen. The bad news is that this is the 4th best flying turtle movie I have ever seen.
