| User ReviewIsaac KOne of the best In the series, Right up there with "Gamera Vs. Barugon",as well as one of the better remakes I've seen, And probably one of the best Kaiju films I've seen. This is essentially a Remake of the 1st and 3rd Gamera films, but With a new twist. It gives both Gamera, and Gaos Completely new origins. If you like Kaiju movies, I'd give this one a watch. |

I have been a part of some Kajui fan clubs on the social media site known as facebook for a while, while not having watched one single of the classic kajui movies, such as Godzilla,Gamera or even Mothra, but I have heard of them and seen video summaries on their movies and I found some bluray collection that said Gamear trilogy, so I bought the Bluray and decided to give it a watch now. In Gamera: Guardian of the universe, a boat is first attacked by some unkown creature(as usual)but a biologist and her partner discover giant birds,while a team of ship-men discover a prehistoric 14 absent giant turtle that they discover to be called Gamera the guardian of the universe while the other bird creature is know as Gyaos the shadow of darkness. The biologist agrees to help capture Gyaos until she discovers of the giant turtle who is connected to a little girl through and orb that was on top of his shell. When Gamera awakes for the final after healing its wounds gained by the military, it does battle with Gyaos one last time. The characters in this movie are not that interesting, heck I don't even remember the movie trying to make an attempt in developing them. It's like their cardboard's that can act like normal people who are on some expedition for their city to help one monster destroy the other. But the movie-watching experience was tons of fun. This is one of those old b-classic awesome fun Kajui movies with great special effects and suit-motion, the suits of the giant monsters look really cool, and I had fun with it. I give Gamera: Guardian of the universe a five out of five. |
