Rolling StoneJason NewmanWhile not as memorable as its predecessor, Futureworld ratchets up the camp, adding samurais, space travel and, most terrifying of all, an erotic dream sequence with Yul Brynner.
EmpireKim NewmanFonda and Danner — who looked then exactly like her daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow, does now — are likable leads in ’70s futurist leisurewear (why didn’t those tailored jumpsuits catch on?), and some creepy corporate robot action helps (Danner’s gunfight with her robot duplicate), but it’s a lot less exciting than the original and replaces satire with TV-style plotting.
IGNScott ColluraThe made-for-TV feel of the production, bland characters and familiar story leads to a pretty forgettable outing.
The New York TimesRichard EderA film about robots and, evidently, for robots. It is as much fun as running barefoot through Astroturf.
User ReviewAndy Tnot as good as Westworld but still the fucking cats pyjamas.
User ReviewKatherine BThe Delos Resort is up an running again, the one where nothing can possibli go wrong. Er, that's "possibly." Go wrong. But that doesn't preclude other naughtiness when robots take their jobs too seriously.
User ReviewZoë PI have not seen Westworld so I don't know if it is anything like the first but I was pleasantly pleased with this film. The plot was really interesting and the acting was decent. I really liked all the diffirent worlds that you could visit. It was cool how they had all the costumes that you could change into in the Medival world. It was cool how all the robots in the world were run by robots. Everything was pretty awesome except when Tracz runs down the stair to tell Chunk that she had a bad dream. It was a pretty pointless scene since we had seen the people dressed like imperial guards from Star Wars take them away. The costumes were pretty stupid for the medical people. I liked Harry and I wish he didn't die, I bet Clark is all alone know. I didn't understand the scene where Tracz is hooked up to the brain wave machine, I guess it had something to do with the first movie. I liked this movie because it had a diffrent plot instead of robots just trying to take over the world.
User ReviewSteve SPeter Fonda plays a reporter who returns to the Westworld theme park, now Futureworld where it seems there was a might wee bit of unpleasantness, But that's all fixed now. Fixed now. Faxed now. Faxed cow. Haxed how. Black Sow. Hacksaw. Slackjaw. Aaaiiieeeeeeee!
User ReviewJay MI was hoping that Peter Fonda turned out to be a robot at the very end and the real dude got thrown off the scaffold. Still great for '76!
User ReviewAllan CBefore knowing that this movie was a sequel of another one, more than pretty similar, I thought that was a small jewel of '70s sci-fi. My opinion is not much changed actually, I still believe is a great movie, but of course I also have to consider that I have still not watched the first chapter, and I'm really curious now, because here is reviewed much much better!
