Common Sense MediaRenee SchonfeldHeartfelt family drama with ghosts and scary fire scene.
Mark Leeper's ReviewsMark R. Leepera reminder of how enchanting a fantasy can still be if not taking over by digital imagery, if it has a few interesting characters and a few nice touches of plotting
Aisle SeatMike McGranaghanMovies are supposed to whisk you away, to make you get lost in their stories. I never got lost in From Time to Time because I was continually aware of the pieces being assembled before me.
Urban CinefileAndrew L. UrbanThe biggest problem standing in the way of the film's success is that it is neither a full-on family film nor a grown up drama - and the ending is both sombre and flat.
ScreenwizeSimon WeavingThis family film - that mixes Regency ghosts and a rambling, secret-filled mansion - lacks oomph and charm despite its top shelf cast, including Maggie Smith and Timothy Spall.
Cinema SignalsJules BrennerHas there been a movie with such an artificial and unengaging style since... well, the fifties?
User ReviewAlexandra HI loved this movie! It's perfect for kids thru middle school. But I love kids' movies so it was also perfect for me.
User ReviewJeanine BWhen a film story sticks with you, draws you back to re-watch, and re-involves you in successive viewings with detail missed before , you've got a worthy piece of entertainment. Strong acting, time travel, ghosts who appear to those open to seeing, plus Maggie Smith. I really like this period piece... and so did my boyfriend!
User ReviewAleathia BIt is one of the best movies I seen in yrs n my kids loved it as well.
User ReviewTom SThis is one of those movies written only for a select audience of those who believe in its basic premise. That premise is that if one is deeply concerned about family history and one's ancestors, that sincere curiosity and concern might open the door to another world. Being of British ancestry myself and having experienced similar incidents depicted in the movie--though to a far lesser degree-- it's hard for me to be objective about this film. I liked very much. Others may find it overbearing and tedious.
