CNNRadio - 7/10 by Paul ChambersInteresting start with some decent acting. But, ultimately predictable with a script in total confusion.
User Review - 10/10 by Angie CVery well done in all aspects: suspense, acting, effects and makeup, great story line, surprise twist ending, professional and polished for an independent! I would highly recommend it if you like the suspense thriller make ya think kind of movies! Not just your average rainy day movie...
User Review - 8/10 by Kevin HYou should check out this movie. My cousin Jeanette Moss plays the Mother who dies.
User Review - 8/10 by Rohit VI was really enjoying this movie until the blasted stupid horror channel missed off the ending!!! This is too much...last week my horror movie turned into Alien Nation for the last 40 minutes and now no bloody ending...not happy!
User Review - 8/10 by Sam OThis felt like the child of Halloween and High Tension. It has it's moments and a great twist ending. Overall probably one of the best horror movies on Netflix Instant Queue from what I've seen thus far.
User Review - 8/10 by Rodney SThis 2007 horror film, has one of the most amazing and gruesome openings of any movie I've seen for awhile. In camera, a Mother is attacked by a killer with a baseball bat, and in pretty good closeup, her head smashed all to hell, in an extremely gory bloody pulp of a mess. I love movies that get off to such a good start. The suspected killer is her own 5 year old Son that has flipped his lid, and after 13 years is being transferred to a psychiatric hospital, when he escapes. Ah you say, HALLOWEEN.... Not hardly, although some reviews have had trouble trying to review this movie without giving away all the twists and turns right into the end credits. Yes, the now 18 year old crazy did escape, and teenagers are dying, when the movie shows a security guard from the hospital being chased by a crazed killer. Other reviewers have been a little more bold, and said, it's a cross between Halloween and Haute Tension. I tend to agree, that "Frayed" has a lot more in common with "Haute Tension" than just about anything else I can think of, and even that comparison is rather remote. Which brings us to the fact, that the story is pretty original, even though you could say homages are paid slightly. This is a damn good horror film, and you do not know what exactly is going on, until even more reveals are exposed as the end credits start to roll. For gorehounds, even though the most graphic almost sickening scene happens right at the beginning, there is still plenty of good old kills to keep the blood flowing. I give this very very high marks as one of the best horror films in the past few years, and an absolutely superb screenplay. After the movie is over, all I wanted to do was watch it again and listen to the commentary. I ran out of time, but that is on the agenda very soon. Don't miss this one, it deserves every horror fans attention.
User Review - 6/10 by JT KCompetently made slasher flick that sends WAY too much time trying to "fool" the audience. The big twist is telegraphed about 10minutes in and then proceeds to beat the viewer over the head, so the reveal is hardly a shock. However, there proves to be a much more effectively hidden moment that comes shortly there after, which gives everything a whole new spin. It isn't enough to save the whole endevour (in fact, it kind of enhances what a missed opportunity for something really special the film turns out to be.) Would be curious to see the filmmakers get another shot at something as they so some flair.
User Review - 6/10 by Brandon DI thought the twist at the end made it better than your average teen slasher. Felt sorry for the kid and realized what a monster the dad was at the end!
User Review - 6/10 by Erik ONice lil' low budget slasher flick that you think you have figured out but goes in a few unexpected directions. Very refreshing for the genre.
User Review - 6/10 by Fernando GWatched Frayed. I thought the movie was great; very suspenseful, and as many people, it grabbed me from the initial, brutal scene. Once you see that, you know you're in for a ride. Excellent start. It's a refreshing take on the slasher film of the '80s, and it's worth your time. The murder scenes are very well done. One hell of an ending as well; I was not expecting that. If you think you know what's going on, keep watching. At 1 hour and 51 minutes; initially I thought it was running a little long for a slasher; I think there are some scenes that could have gotten a little bit of editing, but once I saw the twist; I realized it was worth it. Horror movie fans; give Frayed a whirl. It won't disappoint.
