User Review - 10/10 by Colin RAwesome Paul Naschy flick with some of the first Waldemar Daninsky legacy to be put on film! A land mark film for Spanish Horror, and a must buy for any fan of monsters, blood, and mayhem! The title is deceiving seeing that Frankenstein?s monster is not actually in the movie, but if you know your Paul Naschy movies you know Waldemar Daninsky fights him in a later on in the series.
User Review - 10/10 by Gordon Tthe guy's name is WOLFSTEIN and there's a Dracula-guy in it but no Frankenstein. like a few other films, it sucks but its classic! stars Paul Naschy as VLADMIR!!!!! FREAK YEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
User Review - 8/10 by Karen FDeffinetly inspired by both Universal Monster movies and Hammer Horror,Paul Naschy stars as Waldemar Daninsky, cursed with the mark of the werewolf and longing for a cure, his friends keep him locked up during the full moon, they seek help from a Doctor who is actually a Vampire and has wants only to torment the beast,it all ends on a exciting Climax of Werewolf vs Vampire, the USA Title for this film is somewaht deceiving as there is no Frankenstein to be seen,i'm guessing they just wanted more punters to see the film based on that name alone,This is aland mark film for Spanish Horror, and a must buy for any fan of monsters, blood, and mayhem!
User Review - 6/10 by Owen MObscure Spanish trash cinema, perhaps most memorable for it's ad campaign. Frankenstein does not actually appear in the film, it was titled by U.S. distribution in hopes of cashing in on the 70's Frankenstein craze.
User Review - 6/10 by Gregg AThe first of Naschy's Spanish Werewolf series is a bit disappointing but still worth seeing for genre fans. The series got better as it went along...
User Review - 6/10 by Eric HA certain doctor or his creation are conspicuously absent from this deceptively titled wolf man vs. vampire yarn, which isn't that bloody and terrifying either. It's far from terrible though, as any 60's Euro-horror aficionado will enjoy its Mario Bava-inspired aesthetics. The ponderous pace may test attention spans, but the pic's colorfully Gothic style will hold them.
User Review - 6/10 by Allan CSo I've often heard about Paul Naschy as a Spanish version of Lon Chaney, so I was kind of curious about his film, but It was really a pretty bad film. Never mind that Dr. Frankenstein or Frankenstein's monster do not appear in this film, despite the title, it's actually about Dracula and the Wkolfman. Produced in Spain and badly dubbed in English, featuring some really bad and over-the-top acting, the film does somehow manage to b eocmpelling. Although the editing is terrible, there is some strikingly photographed scenes that almost rank up there with the best of Mario Bava in the use of color and lighting in a horror film. It's this look and style of the film that held my interest and was enough to make we want to check out more of Naschy's films (he also co-wrote this film). Overall, the is probably not a film for average movie goers or even typical horror film fans, but I do think it's something that would be of interest to fans of 60s and 70s Euro Horror. It's a mixed bad to be sure, but it's worth watching for those interested in this sort of film.
User Review - 6/10 by Lisa Sthis movie is hard to find and i only hvae a bad copy. its raelly cerepy. its about werewolves. a guy comes to life and tries to kill people. and everyone tries to make him not a werewolf. its a cool plot.
User Review - 4/10 by Mike BWerewolves and Vampires. Fight! Couldn't get Lon Chaney Jr so Paul Naschy, who wrote this aberration, stepped in. It wouldn't have mattered. Great flick for MST3k night!
User Review - 2/10 by Michael TBoring and cheap, with nary a Frankenstein in sight.
